Muallem prize Policy Council
This council includes experts, prominent figures, educational activists, thought leaders, artists, and representatives from related institutions on both national and international levels. The council’s responsibilities include approving the overall framework of the guidelines and making decisions regarding various aspects of the award. Members are selected for a specific term.
Terms of participation in the Muallem Prize
The “Muallem Prize” is designated for teachers all around the world regardless of their religion. All teachers, instructors, and educators working with individuals under 18 are eligible for the Muallem Prize. This includes school teachers, kindergarten instructors, educational center teachers, school or mosque mentors, and all teaching roles across public, private, and community sectors at various levels. Nominees should have at least five years of experience in this role and plan to continue teaching for at least the next three years .
Nomination Methods for the Muallem Prize
Teachers can apply for the Muallem Prize by visiting the award’s website. Additionally, the general public—including school colleagues, parents, and students—can nominate impactful teachers they know for the prize. On the award’s website nomination page, there are two options for entering the nomination process: I’m a teacher and I want to apply for the Muallem Prize Teachers wishing to apply for the “Muallem Prize” must complete their nomination information form. This form is accessible through the “I am a teacher, and I want to apply for the Muallem Prize” link at the bottom of the Muallem Prize call page. I want to nominate a teacher for the Muallem Prize
To nominate a teacher, individuals should select the “I want to candidate a teacher for the Muallem Prize” option at the bottom of the call page and enter the nominated teacher’s details. Once this form is completed, a message from the secretariat will be sent to the nominated teacher, inviting them to visit the call page and complete their information under the “I am a teacher, and I want to apply for the Muallem Prize” section. If a nominated teacher is selected as a winner, the nominator will be acknowledged for providing the opportunity to honor the teaching profession.
Muallem prize judging process
This process consists of four stages:
1. In the first stage, the “Muallem Prize Secretariat” selects applicants who meet the necessary criteria to proceed in the judging process.
2. In the second stage, the “Judging Committee” reviews the forms selected by the secretariat based on the Muallem Prize criteria.
3. In the third stage, the “Judging Committee,” along with experts from various fields, conducts a deeper evaluation of the nominees by gathering additional information and documentation.
4. In the fourth stage, the “Selection Committee,” based on the evaluations of the judging committee and experts, selects the winning teacher(s)
Judging criteria
After the registration form is completed, the submitted information is reviewed by the judges. During this process, following the initial stages of judging, communication with the nominees will allow for a more comprehensive evaluation of their performance. The judges consider several criteria when selecting the best teacher. The main categories of these criteria are as follows:
– Personal and Professional Competencies
– Problem-Solving Innovation in Education
– Impact on the Lives and Futures of Students
– Constructive Engagement with the Local Community in Students’ Growth and Learning Processes
– Influential and Exemplary Social Presence
Muallem Prize Event Schedule
The operational stages and timeline are as follows:
– Announcement and Launch of Poster: October 21, 2025
– Registration Deadline: December 21, 2025
– Closing Ceremony and Recognition of the Selected Teacher: January 2026
The Prize
The funding for this prize is provided through the support of individuals passionate about education, donors, sponsors, and the participation of organizations. It is desirable that the financing of the Muallem Prize be based on sustainable funding models. These models will stabilize the principal asset and ensure its benefits align with the long-term goals of the Muallem Prize. The prize amount will be determined each year based on the funding secured by sponsors and endowments. In the third cycle, the prize amount will remain the same as in the previous cycle, totaling 10 billion IRI Rials.
